EASTER SNAPES AND EGGS

I am sure Easter bunnies and painted eggs are not Snape’s cup of tea, but at least Hogwarts will be empty, all students gone.

  



This moveable feast that follows the cycle of the Moon,  is a feast for my Catholic family, celebrating Jesus who was resurrected from the dead three day after his cruxifiction.  

We are going to paint eggs, and have an egghunt in our garden for my son’s great joy.  According to a Hungarian tradition we have “Watering Monday”, water or perfumed water is sprinkled on girls’ heads in exchange for an Easter egg.  And of course the guys must tell us an Easter poem and ask for permission to water us...  The men from our neighbourhood also pay a visit. In my family the poem must be something very funny, juicy blue talk.   

So I am looking forward a great time, decorating the house, cooking and baking and just enjoy the rays of the spring sun!  I am going to meet our father at church, a great man, he taught me many things on morals and human dignity, he always had a good advice when I was in need.  He held the nuptial and christening ceremonies in our family. Last time my son’s christening, 2 year ago at Easter time.  He chose Saint Peter to his patronus, a man of strong faith who holds the keys of heaven and Saint Cornelius, the patron saint of healing ailments.  

I know traditions are not “trendy” today, but we keep them... It is a link between generations, between centuries, between past and future.
